ice ice baby

there are only a few different ways to make a beverage colder - put it in the fridge, or add ice cubes. adding ice cubes can get boring, and they water down your drink. but what if you had really amazingly absolutely cool ice cube trays? then maybe would you consider? check these out:

poor little rich girl

no no i am not sarcastically making fun of someone who i am jealous of because they have more money then me! i was recently told about a store called Poor Little Rich Girl located in Toronto, ON and i wanted to let you all know about it!

it caters to women in their twenties to early thirties, has really cute clothes and is reasonably priced  - can't get any better if you ask me. i also hear they have great accessories....bags, necklaces, etc. girls, i'd get over there and check it out if i was you...

life tips

another new thing that i am going to do is post a "life tip" (or two or three!) every day for you to try. i found this site on stumble upon and i loved it so i wanted to share with you guys :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Memorize something everyday. Not only will this leave your brain sharp and your memory functioning, you will also have a huge library of quotes to bust out at any moment. Poetry, sayings and philosophies are your best options.Constantly try to reduce your attachment to possessions. Those who are heavy set with material desires will have a lot of trouble when their things are taken away from them or lost. Possessions do end up owning you, not the other way around. Become a person of minimal needs and you will be much more content.Develop an endless curiosity about this world.Become an explorer and view the world as your jungle. Stop and observe all of the little things as completely unique events. Try new things. Get out of your comfort zone and try to experience as many different environments and sensations as possible. This world has so much to offer, so why not take advantage of it?

quote of the day

down to earth

these photos were found on National Geographic and i wanted to share:

during a geomagnetic storm, a neon green ribbon of aurora australis danced over Earth. This was taken in 2010 by an astronaut on the international space station.

Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas - taken in 2002 by an astronaut on the international space station

a bubble of steam surrounds volcanic ash rising from Sarychev Volcano on the northwestern end of Matua Island which is a part of the Kuril Islands (very large stretch!). taken in 209 by an astronaut on the international space station.

quote of the day

It is cruel, you know, that music should be so beautiful. It has the beauty of loneliness & of pain: of strength & freedom. The beauty of disappointment & never-satisfied love. The cruel beauty of nature, & everlasting beauty of monotony.

country strong

if you haven't seen this movie yet, YOU HAVE TO. i watched it for the first time with my mom on thursday, and since then i have watched it two more times. first reason being the main character, Beau (played by Garret Hedlund) is SO HOT. second reason being the chemistry between all of the characters is just right. Gwyneth Paltrow does an unbelievable job playing the role of a recovering alcoholic, and Leighton Meester surprised me with how well she played her character, Chiles. not to mention the soundtrack - unbelievable. it has been on repeat on my ipod for 3 days.

check this movie out. it's inspiring, fun to watch, and you won't be able to stop singing once you've seen it :)

the little things

where to shop? give us a break...

so today i went shopping in buffalo instead of my usual - toronto. every time i go there i am AMAZED by the crazy huge selection and great sales! i bought way too much (found urban, tons of shoe stores, super outlet stores for beauty supplies AKA $5 OPI colours including shatter...). for the first time today i also declared what i purchased at the border. id rather pay that amount than be caught. but this is what made me so annoyed - Canada is taxing me for stimulating the US economy and not theirs, which i understand. but this problem could be easily avoided - get better stores, prices, and selection in Canada! the dollar is really strong though so i guess it was okay, it's just really irritating that you spend money, and are then taxed AGAIN on it when you are already paying the US taxes and the price of the clothing. you'd also think that since the US and Canada are neighbours and bffs they could maybe make a better deal so that we both help stimulate each others economies? just a thought.

the little things

lets face it - there are lots of things in this world that make us happy. but when it comes down to it, for me at least, it's the little things that matter the most :) a home made card, a "thinking of you" text, making a stranger smile.

it's important to remember the little things and how much they really do make you smile, or affect you. when you forget, it's easy to be disappointed and you tend to set your expectations too high. i've always valued the little things, and i think you all should too. these are just some of the little things that i appreciate. check out the site below to read them all - you will LOVE :) I'm going to post an entry as often as i can with "the little thing(s)" that i relate to that day.

do all of you remember Beanie Babies? i used to LOVE them! i had puppies, alligators, ducks, cats, birds, big ones, small ones...i LOVED them. i would ask for them for my birthday, for christmas, for valentines day, any excuse to get a present and i would ask for one! i used to love those cute little poems on the inside and it was always magical when you found one that had the same birthday as you :)
i dont remember my first one which is sad, but i know that i still have a few around that i was never ready to part with.
